| | Things to do in and around Jeffrey's Bay
Jeffreys Bay is the Gateway to the Garden
Route
- 1 hour from Port Elizabeth Jeffreys Bay is a
buzz of activity in December and over the Easter period when most
South Africans suffer from holiday fever but, a lot more peaceful
most of the year round, except of course when there is surfing
competitions and the shell festival (not much to do with shells),
when everyone comes from all around the area (even JHB) to sell
their years work and show off their creative talents to the locals.
- Take a day trip for a picnic in
Baviaanskloof Nature Reserve in the direction of Hankey, Loerie and
Patensie en route to Willowmore, where orange coloured sandstone
cliffs, aloes, proteas, arums and wild fig trees contribute to
varying scenes of great indigenous beauty.
- SOMETHING SPECIAL (Bartholomews Rest Guests only) - Join a 3 day 4 x 4 guided tour to visit the canyon. Rates apply. Subject to availability and season
